DVDO Introduces iScan® Micro Cost-Effective 4K Ultra HD Video Enhancement System

Tiny 4K Scaler and Video Enhancement System Improves Picture Quality with Professional 4K Adaptive Scaling, Noise Reduction and Resolution Enhancement Technology

SUNNYVALE, Calif., April 29, 2015 –DVDO®, Inc., an award-winning provider of high-quality, high-definition (HD) video processing, switching and connectivity solutions, today announced the iScan® Micro, a compact video enhancement system that automatically improves the picture quality of SD and HD content.  The iScan Micro incorporates VRS® ClearView™ technology, which features a studio-grade 4K Ultra HD adaptive scaling engine, as well as other noise reduction and picture enhancement technologies.  The scaling engine processes video and graphics content independently, delivering outstanding picture quality on 4K and Full HD displays.  The iScan Micro will be available in late Q2 2015 for an MSRP of $129 through authorized DVDO distributors, dealers and online partners.

iScan Micro’s powerful video processing technologies work seamlessly to improve picture quality from highly compressed sources such as Internet streaming or downloaded content.  iScan Micro features three selectable enhancement modes, automatic scaling, and an extremely small case which allows iScan Micro to be hidden behind any TV.

“Since most home content is still 1080p resolution or below, iScan Micro is exactly what consumers need to ensure their 4K TV displays brilliant UHD content,” said Doug Fealtman, general manager of DVDO, Inc.  “Poor-quality scaling and blocky Internet video reduce video quality; by simply adding iScan Micro to the back of the TV, consumers can get the best possible picture and realize their investment in a leading-edge TV.”

The iScan Micro is small enough to be placed behind an existing TV.  It can be used as a stand-alone device to improve the picture quality on any display, but is also the perfect companion to a video processor or switcher such as DVDO’s Quick6.

iScan Micro Features:

  • VRS ClearView Technology
  • 4K Ultra HD Adaptive Scaling (HDMI® 2.0)
  • Edge and Detail Enhancement
  • Video Smoothing
  • Mosquito Noise Reduction
  • IR input port
  • Dedicated remote buttons for easy mode changes

DVDO’S Air3c™ Wirelesshd® Adapters Selected For 2015 CES Innovation Awards Honoree

SUNNYVALE, Calif., February 2, 2015-DVDO, Inc. an award-winning provider of high-quality, high-definition (HD) video processing, switching and connectivity solutions, today announced  that its Air3C, WirelessHD® adapter has been named a 2015 CES Innovation Awards Honoree in the Home Audio/Video Components & Accessories product category. Air3C was recognized for its outstanding engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 28 product categories and judged by a prominent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media. The prestigious CES Innovation Awards are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)®, the producer of the International CES, the global gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technology, and have been recognizing achievements in product design and engineering since 1976.
Integrating 60GHz WirelessHD technology, DVDO’s Air3C provides a cable-free environment to consumers seeking a clean in-room installation. Wires detract from a modern home entertainment setup. Air3C transports HD video and multi-channel digital audio with near zero latency using a robust wireless beam.

“Entries are evaluated on their engineering, aesthetic and design qualities, intended use/function and user value, how the design and innovation of the product directly compares to other products in the marketplace and unique/novel features present,” said the CEA Innovation Awards Team. “Products chosen as CES Innovation Honorees reflect innovative design and engineering in some of the most cutting edge tech products and services coming to market.”

“We couldn’t be more excited about Air3C being recognized with an Honoree award,” said Doug Fealtman, general manager of DVDO. “With Air3C, we’ve made WirelessHD connectivity effortless for entertainment enthusiasts and integrators. A professional grade version that ships with our  Air3C-Pro configuration software is also available giving installers full control of all aspects of the wireless link. Our easy-to-use utility can lock down a working installation so customers cannot later disrupt the wireless link creating unreliable playback.”

DVDO’S AVLAB TPG 4K TEST PATTERN GENERATOR WINS TWO PRESTIGIOUS AWARDS DURING CEDIA EXPO 2014

Leading Publications CE Pro and Technology Integrator Select AVLab TPG for Product Innovation and Excellence

SUNNYVALE, Calif., September 16, 2014 –DVDO®, Inc., an award-winning provider of high-quality, high-definition (HD) video processing, switching and connectivity solutions, today announced that its 4K test pattern generator, AVLab TPG was named a winner of two prestigious awards during the CEDIA Expo 2014.  AVLab TPG was selected as the winner for the CE Pro BEST Award in the Tools, Testing & Calibration category for its innovation, functionality, and competitive advantage to integrators as well as the Technology Integrator’sEXC!TE Award for innovative, high-performing, and solutions-oriented products for the custom installation professional.

DVDO’s AVLab TPG has been designed with installers and integrators in mind, and is the first pocket-sized test pattern generator supporting full 4K Ultra HD resolution at 50/60Hz outlined in the HDMI® 2.0 specifications.  The AVLab TPG works with Color Management System (CMS) software such as CalMAN™, can be powered by either USB or with an AC adapter, and uses the USB interface to automatically control the video calibration workflow.

“We are thrilled that the CEDIA industry recognizes us once again for the value that DVDO products bring to installers and consumers,” said Doug Fealtman, general manager of DVDO.  “Winning these awards three consecutive years in a row truly validates our commitment to deliver innovative and cutting-edge products to the home entertainment market.”

“The BEST Awards are recognized as one of the most prestigious awards in the custom installation industry,” said Jason Knott, editor-in-chief at CE Pro. “The awards are independently scored by a team of integrators in the field who evaluate submissions based on their innovation, their benefit to the integrator and their ultimate benefit to the consumer. The scores are tallied up and the winner is selected.  So DVDO’s recognition is really coming from custom installers in the field, not just from CE Pro.”

Improves SD and Full HD picture quality through 4K adaptive scaling, noise reduction and resolution enhancement technology

SUNNYVALE, Calif., June 23, 2014 –DVDO®, Inc., an award-winning provider of high-quality, high-definition (HD) video processing, switching and connectivity solutions, today announced the iScan Mini, a compact video enhancement system that significantly improves the picture quality of SD and HD content using Silicon Image’s VRS® ClearView™ technology which features a studio-grade 4K Ultra HD adaptive scaling engine, as well as other noise reduction and picture enhancement technologies. The scaling engine processes video and graphics content independently, delivering outstanding picture quality on 4K and full HD displays.  The iScan Mini is available for an MSRP of $299 through authorized DVDO distributors, dealers and online partners.

iScan Mini’s powerful video processing technologies address the need to improve picture quality from highly compressed sources such as internet streaming or downloaded content.  A built-in demo mode allows side-by-side comparison of “before and after” video to showcase the iScan Mini’s performance.  In addition, a full set of setup tools enables professional display adjustment.

Packaged in a small form-factor, the iScan Mini can be placed behind an existing A/V Receiver or even wall-mounted TV for a clean set-up.  It can be used as a stand-alone device to improve the picture quality on any display, but is the perfect companion to a video processor or switcher such as DVDO’s iScan DuoEDGE Green, or Quick6.

•    VRS ClearView Technology
o    4K Ultra HD Adaptive Scaling (HDMI 2.0)
o    Edge and Detail Enhancement
o    Video Smoothing
o    Mosquito Noise Reduction

DVDO LAUNCHES AIR3, THE INDUSTRY’S FIRST 60GHZ WIRELESSHD® ADAPTER SUPPORTING BOTH MHL® AND HDMI® CONNECTIVITY

The Ultimate Cable Replacement Solution with Near-Zero Latency and No Interference from Wi-Fi

SUNNYVALE, Calif., September 24, 2013 – DVDO®, Inc., an award-winning provider of high-quality video connectivity solutions, today announced the availability of its latest-generation WirelessHD® adapter, the DVDO Air3.  The Air3 is the industry’s first WirelessHD adapter that delivers full 1080p60 HD content not only from HDMI® and DVI® sources, but also from MHL®-enabled smartphones and tablets to a big screen.  It is ideal for gamers and home entertainment enthusiasts to play their favorite video games or watch action-rich full HD video content on a big screen without stringing a cable across a room.  The Air3 is available with an MSRP of $199.99 through authorized DVDO distributors, dealers and online partners.

“Building on the award-winning first-generation DVDO Air, the Air3 adds support for MHL connectivity for mobile devices as well as DVI for commercial applications.  Featuring the latest WirelessHD implementation further increases reliability and performance for installations where a cable is not desired or practical,” said C.H. Chee, general manager of DVDO.  “Its sleek form factor is designed to conform to ultra-thin TVs and various mounting options make the entire setup process effortless.”

60GHz WirelessHD Technology
WirelessHD is the leading standard optimized for multi-gigabit data rate wireless connectivity based on 60GHz technology, which enables the highest-quality HD video with no visible lag that doesn’t sacrifice reliability.  Based on Silicon Image’s Gen3 60GHz WirelessHD chipset, the Air3 transmits HD content up to 10 meters in-room without any interference from Wi-Fi, and features RF (Radio Frequency) beam forming, auto input sensing, auto standby, near-zero latency, and auto rate negotiation to deliver cable-like reliability and performance.

MHL Connectivity
As more and more consumers connect their mobile devices to their home theater systems for an immersive experience, it has become critical to deliver a seamless and robust connectivity solution for interactive video applications.  MHL allows consumers to view full HD content of their MHL-enabled smartphone or tablet onto a large display while simultaneously charging the mobile device.  With MHL, users also can utilize the TV remote control to control the MHL-enabled mobile device for a consumer friendly viewing experience.  This allows mobile gaming and media applications to be easily integrated into the home theater system with maximum video and audio quality.

DVDO Air3 Features:
•    60GHz WirelessHD 1.1 technology
o    No interference from Wi-Fi, microwave or cordless phone signals
o    Sub-frame latency for gaming and interactive video applications
•    HDMI 1.4 input and output
•    MHL 2.0 input
•    7.1 HD audio support for surround sound receivers
